Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. in Topeka, KS is seeking a Perioperative Nurse to provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care within a 36-hour weekly, 12-hour night shift. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and follow surgical safety checklists and sterile technique.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN (preferred), possess Kansas RN licensure, and have BLS certification. You will educate patients on post-operative care and contribute to post-anesthesia recovery using Aldrete scoring.

Qualifications

• RN licensure KSBN (Kansas) or multistate license accepted.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of surgical safety checklists and sterile technique.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team.
• Ability to perform calculations related to medications and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting.
• Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential problems and issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes and develops a collaborative plan to achieve them.
• Implements the plan through coordination of care and patient education.
• Evaluates progress toward goals and uses Aldrete scoring for post-anesthesia recovery.
