Job summary

UKHS St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS seeks a night shift, full-time Post Surgical Medical Surgical RN to join our Med-Surg team. The role involves coordinating safe patient care, assessing needs, and continually updating the plan of care to meet diverse patient goals.

The RN must hold a KS license, complete BLS within 14 days, and ACLS/oncology credentials where required. A Bachelor’s degree and MS Office familiarity are preferred, with at least one year of relevant experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing; Kansas RN license required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU and PCU.
• Oncology certification required for Post Surgery.
• All required certifications must be completed within first year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care for specified populations under Nurse Director/Manager.
• Assess patient/family needs; set goals; evaluate and revise the plan of care.
• Delegate tasks to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree in nursing
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Tele, ICU and PCU require ACLS.
• Post Surgery requires oncology certification.
• All required certifications must be completed within first year of employment.
