Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking an RN Perioperative in Saint Louis, Missouri, to join Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s fast-paced OR team. The role involves scrubbing and circulating for various surgical pods, patient safety, and collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of operating room experience, RN licensure, and a BSN or higher is preferred. Relocation assistance and tuition support are among the available benefits.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• RN license is required.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families about the communication process during the procedure, what to expect, and any support resources.
• Demonstrates competence and independent practice in scrub and/or circulating roles for perioperative services.
• Prepares and assists with surgical procedures, ensuring proper instruments and safety requirements.
• Keeps patients safe from adverse events during surgery, monitors for complications, and ensures sterile technique.
• Participates in safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and promotes ongoing professional development.
