Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for perioperative services in a per diem capacity. The OR team delivers comprehensive patient care through the nursing process in neonates to older adults, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe, efficient flows and continuous improvements.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, and optional CNOR/BSN; ACLS and PALS are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

Delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Coordinate care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides the OR Technician and other personnel.
Maintain standards of professional nursing and participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
