Job summary

University of Southern California Keck Hospital is seeking an OR RN for full-time 12-hour day shifts (non-exempt, union). The perioperative nurse provides care across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to maintain patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity surgical setting.

Qualifications include a BSN, 1 year of OR experience, excellent English communication, and knowledge of procedures including blood collection and apheresis;

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or grandfathered BSN prior to 12/2019.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative procedures and safety practices.
• Ability to follow policies and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Universal Patient Safety Goals in all areas of practice.
• Ensure correct labeling of medications on and off the sterile field.
• Document patient charges, implants and pathology records accurately and timely.
• Utilize Cerner system for documentation and updates.
• Support and coordinate across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Maintain sterile technique and safety standards throughout procedures.
