The RN delivers safe, compassionate patient care and supports the team during exams, procedures and pre/post-operative activities. Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of surgical terminology and aseptic technique.
• Experience with perioperative procedures and sterile field management.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot common surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams and treatment.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vital signs.
• Escort patients to rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record medical histories, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Obtain proper consent forms prior to treatment.
• Prepare and administer medications per safety protocols.
• Collect and log blood, tissue, and other specimens for testing.
• Explain perioperative procedures and provide discharge instructions.
• Prepare rooms for surgery, administer local anesthesia, and assist with instruments.
• Provide prescription information to patients' preferred pharmacy.
• Inspect sterile items and organize supplies on the sterile field.
• Assist physicians during procedures while maintaining sterility.
• Perform suture removals and assess post-op wounds.
• Monitor patient condition and notify physicians of distress.
• Clean rooms and equipment between patients and at day end.
• Dispose of infection waste and biohazards correctly.
• Schedule appointments for patients.
• Change wound dressings as needed.
• Greet patients arriving at the surgery center.
• Coordinate tests/admissions with other facilities.
• Inventory and stock instruments and supplies.
• Document all procedures accurately and timely.
• Respond to emergencies per nursing standards and policies.
• Assist physicians in emergencies with proper documentation.
• Order and manage emergency supplies monthly.
• Adhere to policies while delivering high-quality service.
• Perform additional duties in the organization's best interest.
