Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre & Post Surgery Unit to deliver patient care supporting the Main PACU, Main Operating Room, and Ambulatory Surgery suites. This includes preparing patients for surgery, providing education, and following universal protocol.

You will perform Phase 2 assessment, teaching, and discharge instructions in a fast-paced setting with a Day Shift.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• Two or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an Inpatient Acute Setting; telemetry or step-down experience encouraged.

Position Purpose

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.

• The ideal candidate will have two or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an Inpatient Acute Setting, and telemetry or step-down experience is strongly encouraged.

Preferred:

• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification (support available post-hire).

Position Highlights and Benefits

• Full-Time – 32 hours/week – Day Shift.

• Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment.

• Unit hours are 5:30 am to 6:30 pm.

• Variable start times, ranging from 5:30 am, 8:30 am, or 9:30 am, depending on assignment to pre- or post-operative teams.

• Participation on both pre- and post-operative teams is required.

• Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95
