Job summary

Medical City Surgery Center of North Texas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center on a PRN basis. You will plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively through discharge.

Candidates should have an RN license, 1+ year PACU/ICU/Surgery experience, and BCLS; ACLS and PALS as required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive team within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of patients’ history and diagnostic tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Demonstrate proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
• Check dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing
