Job summary

TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA is seeking an experienced RN for perioperative care. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families, and manage preoperative processes to ensure patient safety.

You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and technologists to uphold evidence-based practices, perform site verification, and maintain high-quality care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN Virginia license or compact multistate license.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and perioperative process.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and adherence to universal protocols.
• Identify and respond to patient emergencies with safe nursing care.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in the OR.
