Bayou Bend Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Surgical OR Nurse to provide direct, individualized nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery. You will collaborate with the health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, while maintaining high standards of asepsis and safety.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and a current nursing license in good standing, with appropriate federal and state credentials on file.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Federal- and State- required credentials current and on file.
• Cognitive skills as related to the position.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care based on the nursing process.
• Coordinate with health care team members to assess and plan patient care.
• Conduct pre- and post-operative education for patients and families.
• Serve as communication liaison to family and OR team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Provide basic bedside care and administer medications as prescribed.
• Monitor patient status and respond to life-saving situations per protocol.
• Prepare the OR for surgery and assist in positioning and equipment handling.
