Job summary

TEEMA Solutions Group is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide comprehensive perioperative care in San Luis Obispo, California. The RN will assist surgeons and anesthesia providers, coordinate surgical activities, maintain a sterile environment, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the surgical team throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Active RN license in California
• BLS/CPR certification
• One year OR nursing experience preferred
• CNOR and PALS certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Circulate during surgical procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile operating room environment.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including assessment, positioning, and verification of surgical documentation.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
• Operate and monitor surgical equipment and ensure necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials according to organizational policies.
• Document patient care, surgical procedures, and required clinical information accurately.
• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement, inventory management, and operating room readiness activities.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
