Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist the Clinical team with indirect patient care and nonpatient tasks in the OR environment. You will help with room turnover, equipment gathering for surgical cases, and setup of the next case, ensuring the OR is ready and properly equipped.

The role requires weekend, holiday, and rotation coverage, plus current NJ-BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Acute Care Hospital experience preferred (i.e.: Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS, etc.)
• Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use

Responsibilities

• Room turnover: includes taking out the trash, cleaning all areas of the OR, including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
• Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
• Changing OR tables when necessary
• Room set up: setting up the entire OR room for the next case or first case of the day; this includes making the bed, having necessary equipment in the room positioned appropriately for the case
• Taking specimens to the lab
• Take returns to CSP and put returns away that live in the OR upstairs
• PCT will be on your feet, the entire shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed
