Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks a Nurse Educator in Perioperative Education to develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for staff. You will lead educational initiatives and serve on hospital committees to promote quality patient care and customer satisfaction.

The role focuses on nursing practice standards, staff development, and collaboration across departments to advance educational programs within the VUMC community.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of experience in Holding Room and PACU.
• Experience leading nursing education initiatives is preferred.
• Ability to integrate evidence-based practices into educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Use a systematic process to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.
• Establish collegial partnerships contributing to professional development of peers and students.
• Integrate evidence-based practices into educational initiatives and activities.
• Maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing and professional development practice.
• Evaluate own practice against professional standards and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
