Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Operating Room Nurse Manager who reports directly to the Chief Nurse of Perioperative and serves on the Nursing Perioperative Management Team.

You will partner with the Chief of Surgery and other service chiefs to oversee delivery of high-quality patient care in the operating room, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring adherence to standards. This leadership role emphasizes clinical excellence, staff development, and collaboration

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care positions.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE; OR individuals in master\u2019s level bridge programs may become registered.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. GNT temporary appointment option may be used while pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Nurse Manager partners with the Chief Nurse of Perioperative and serves as an active member of the Nursing Perioperative Management Team.
• Oversees and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care in the operating room; reports directly to the Chief Nurse of Perioperative.

An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional professional nursing required.

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional professional nursing experience required.

A Master's degree in nursing (MSN) and no additional professional nursing experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field with a BSN and no additional professional nursing experience.

An ADN or Diploma in Nursing AND 2 years of professional nursing experience

A Doctoral degree in Nursing with no professional nursing experience; OR a Doctoral degree in a related field with a BSN and no additional professional nursing experience
