Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Perioperative Support Equipment Coordinator for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30am–3:00pm). The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining operating room equipment, coordinating with Biomedical Engineering, and ensuring equipment readiness and safety across the department.

The position requires at least two years of OR hospital experience (including one year with surgical equipment) and a High School diploma or GED, plus Basic Life Support

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years OR hospital experience including at least one year with surgical equipment.
• Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots operational problems with equipment during set up and operation.
• Disassembles, cleans, and assembles equipment in accordance with department, vendor, biomed and infection control policies, and procedures.
• Maintains an up-to-date list of all department equipment.
• Conducts a monthly assessment of the physical facility to identify needed repairs and problems.
• Works with Biomedical Engineering to coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and new equipment checks.
• Consistently and accurately performs testing and calibration on equipment according to department and vendor standards.
• Additional duties as assigned.
