Job summary

Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center comprising the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and PeriOp areas. The Environmental Services Associate cleans and disinfects perioperative environments, maintains PPE practices, and supports patient transport and room turnover to ensure sterile, safe operating conditions.

Day shift, 1.0 FTE at 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, involved in cleaning ORs, labs, and patient areas with emphasis on infection control and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Equivalent experience: 1+ year(s) (minimum work experience).
• Follow infection control and PPE policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Environmental Sanitation and PPE Practices infection control isolation precautions according to Infection Control policy.
• Cleans and disinfects the OR after the end of surgery.
• Transports patients, patient belongings, and specimens in the perioperative environment.
• Sets up and prepares OR tables for next surgical case.
• Performs cycle clean and terminal/final clean of ORs.
• Keeps inventory levels of OR sinks/carts/alcoves and provides supplies as needed.
• Performs hand hygiene before and after every patient contact.
