Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Perioperative Care Tech to assist RNs in delivering perioperative care and to manage supplies for same-day add-on procedures and next-day surgeries. The role emphasizes independent work, accuracy, and patient safety in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Hours are 6am-2:30pm Monday through Friday with a weekend call rotation (8am-4:30pm Sat/Sun every 6 weeks). A proactive, self-starter attitude and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
*This position will be responsible for picking cases daily and assisting with odds and ends including paperwork/filing.
Seeking a self-starter who can work independently to pick disposable supplies, trays, and peel packed instruments for same day add-on procedures and pick all of the next day procedures (surgeries).
Hours: 6am - 2:30pm M-F
Weekend Call Rotation: 1 weekend every 6 weeks. 8am - 4:30pm Saturday & Sunday
The Perioperative Care Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
A clinically competent Perioperative Care Technician who works under the supervision of the RN in delivering skilled and effective direct and indirect perioperative care and all related functions. Utilizes initiative, strives to maintain steady level of productivity. Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement and activities.
