Job summary

Virtua's Voorhees Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a full-time team member to support perioperative services. Responsibilities include cleaning the OR suite, transporting patients and equipment, and assisting with room turnover and setup for each case.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize OR suite cleaning for room turnover and clean common areas within the perioperative area using prescribed procedures.
• Clean and store unnecessary equipment, inspect equipment for patient safety, and return to proper storage.
• Maintain environment of care including scrub sinks and clutter-free hallways; ensure proper surgical attire.
• Assist with transferring, transporting and positioning patients using correct body mechanics.
• Transport fresh and frozen section specimens and check specimen log for transport.
• Assist in OR set-up for each case and move essential equipment into the room.
• Stock shelves, linen and fluids; assist in putting away warehouse supplies daily.

Summary

Provides basic care services including patient, specimen, and equipment transport along with room cleaning, environment of care maintenance, fluid and linen management. Assists Product Coordinator with unpacking and restocking of supplies.

Position Responsibilities

• Prioritizes OR suite cleaning for room turnover and cleans common areas within the perioperative area using prescribed procedures.
• Follows cases, cleans and stores unnecessary equipment, terminally cleans equipment according to manufacturer recommendations, inspects equipment for patient safety, returns equipment to proper storage, removes broken equipment and notifies Core Tech/charge RN, transports and handles essential equipment per policies and procedures.
• Maintains environment of care including scrub sinks, clutter‑free hallways, etc., demonstrates awareness of restricted, semi‑restricted areas, and surgical attire.
• Assists with transferring, transporting and positioning patients using correct body mechanics.
• Transports fresh and frozen section specimens, checking specimen log for transport.
• Assists in OR set‑up for each case, moving essential equipment into the room.
• Stocks shelves in compliance with par levels, stocks linen and fluids; assists Product Coordinator in putting away all warehouse supplies daily; uses available technology as needed.

Position Qualifications / Experience Required

• Previous healthcare experience/skills preferred.

Required Education

High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Training/Certifications/Licensure

BLS Certification.

Hourly Rate

$18.26 - $22.38 (actual rate varies based on experience and internal equity).
