Job summary

Lightwave Dental Management LLC is seeking a dedicated Periodontal Assistant to support our periodontist in clinical and administrative duties. You will prepare patients, assist during procedures, sterilize instruments, and manage charts and records in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes organized, detail-oriented care with strong communication and a solid understanding of periodontal procedures. The schedule is four days weekly, with three days aiding the periodontist and one day rotating

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience required.
• Dental assistant certification where required.
• X-ray/Radiography certification.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection control training as required by law.
• Experience with relevant dental software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment, instruments, and materials.
• Understanding of surgical techniques and chairside responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with dental procedures and anticipate needs.
• Take, develop and mount X-rays and 3D scans; perform provisional lab duties.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; follow OSHA safety guidelines.
• Schedule appointments, charting, and filing tasks.
• Prepare patient charts, treatment plans, and dental records.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and maintain infection control protocols.
• Assist surgeon with chairside procedures and operatory setup/cleanup.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-treatment information.
• Monitor stock of supplies and replenish as needed.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are properly maintained.
• Provide excellent patient care at all times.
