Job summary

Baptist Health’s Perinatal Diagnostic Center in Lexington, KY is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist-Perinatal (PRN I, First Shift). The role performs high‑quality fetal imaging, assists licensed practitioners, and ensures patient safety and comfort.

You will work with a team of radiology professionals, adhere to ALARA, document findings, and contribute to high‑risk obstetric assessments such as fetal anatomy surveys and Doppler studies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited program in sonography.
• Satisfactory completion of an accredited sonography program or equivalent.
• Current ARDMS certification or eligible (ABD/OBGYN).
• Must obtain ARDMS Abdomen and OB-Gyn within one year of hire.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• BLS certification if not already held, within 30 days of hire.
• Experience not required or less than one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform perinatal ultrasound imaging to assist diagnosis and treatment.
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment, follow infection control and safety policies.
• Review orders and patient history; verify identity and history.
• Maintain ALARA principles and monitor MI/TI during exams.
• Document findings in PACS/Viewpoint and EHR with clinical notes.
• Support licensed practitioners during procedures such as amniocentesis or CVS.
• Communicate with patients and families in understandable terms.

ARDMS certification or eligible

Must obtain ARDMS Abdomen & OB-Gyn within 1 year
