Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for PRN daytime coverage to support our Radiology department. The role focuses on diagnostic imaging using radiographic and fluoroscopic technology and ensuring safe, high-quality exams for patients.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registry eligibility, and Kentucky Radiation Operators Certification, with current BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Executes ionizing radiation to patients to take x-ray images in the safest manner possible.
• Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed for patients daily.
• Participates in CQI activities and provides input for improvement.
• Provides directions to patients regarding radiologic exams.
• Provides education to patients regarding their ordered exams.
• Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each exam.
• Maintains adequate and proper records.
• Prepares barium and other chemical mixtures for x-rays.
• Must pass initial competency test and yearly competency testing thereafter.
• Will assume other duties applicable to the operation of the Radiology Department as needed.
• Demonstrates flexibility of working hours to assure 24-hour departmental coverage, which may include on-call duty.
• Must maintain current BLS.
