We are seeking a PRN Perinatal Ultrasound Tech to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice, part of the East Cooper Physician Group in Mount Pleasant and Georgetown, SC.

Schedule: PRN Opportunity - 2-3 days per week on average

Role: As a Perinatal Ultrasound Tech at East Cooper MFM, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in a high-risk OB setting. You will work independently and with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to pregnant women.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation.
  2. Maintaining electronic patient charts and records to process sonographic data and observations.
  3. Managing patient information in ultrasound documentation, image storage, and EMR systems; obtaining medical history and preparing preliminary reports.
  4. Using independent judgment during sonograms to differentiate normal and abnormal findings.
  5. Selecting proper transducers, handling probes according to guidelines, and adjusting equipment to optimize images based on fetal position and tissue characteristics.
  6. Recognizing and addressing equipment malfunctions.
  7. Explaining procedures to patients and providing supportive care during examinations.
  8. Performing various perinatal ultrasound procedures for internal organ and vessel evaluation.
  9. Participating in quality initiatives related to patient satisfaction, care, and workflow.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED and Technical School Diploma in Ultrasonography or an Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  2. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a perinatal/maternal fetal medicine setting.
  3. Current state certification or licensure; CPR certification; ECHO certification preferred.
  4. Experience with first trimester exams, fetal anatomy surveys, and guidance of invasive procedures. Ability to implement advanced imaging techniques (3D/4D). Knowledge of sonography equipment, electronic health systems, ICD-9, and CPT codes.

Physical/Mental Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle equipment. Full range of body motion and manual dexterity required.
