Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer to join the maternal-fetal medicine sonography team. The role involves acquiring, processing, and archiving ultrasound images while ensuring patient care with strong communication and teamwork.

Successful candidates will hold ARDMS certification or registry eligibility, have OB/GYN experience, and graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical program. The position requires flexibility to cover multiple practice sites in NYC area.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalency required.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program.
• ARDMS certification or registry eligibility; OB/GYN registry within 18 months if applicable.
• OB/GYN experience for minimum 1 year.
• Able to operate ultrasound equipment and interpret findings within department protocols.
• Willing to cover rotating sites in Manhattan, Westchester, Rockland or Putnam county.

Responsibilities

• Localize and differentiate normal vs. pathological areas.
• Integrate sonogram with patient history and records.
• Present preliminary findings to attending physician for reporting.
• Maintain log of ultrasound findings.
• Assist physician with patient care.
• Collaborate with billing/secretarial staff on authorizations/charges.
• Provide coverage for vacations/sick days as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
