Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Perinatal RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for a defined group of patients, coordinate care plans, and supervise LVNs and aides during their shifts.

Responsibilities include developing and updating care plans, delivering safe care, evaluating patient progress weekly, documenting nursing notes, and supporting education for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Six months to a year of experience as a licensed RN or holder of an active GN permit.
• Current BLS certification.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient assessment, patient care planning, and provision of quality nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
• Provides direction and supervision to LVN/LPNs, nursing assistants, unit secretaries, and other clinical/clerical associates.
• Develops a comprehensive nursing care plan addressing needs identified through nursing assessment.
• Implements patient care as planned in nursing and interdisciplinary care plans.
• Evaluates patient response to interventions and progress toward nursing goals weekly.
• Completes nursing progress notes and flow sheets daily.
• Educates patients and families about procedures, tests, and disease processes.
