Job summary
Nellis AFB Medical Center in North Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Registered Nurse - Lactation Consultant to provide comprehensive lactation care for mothers and infants within the hospital setting. You will perform assessments, educate families, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safe feeding plans and positive outcomes.
Responsibilities include bedside rounds, documentation in electronic records, and active participation in the Breastfeeding Task Force.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from NLNAC/CCNE accredited program.
- 3+ years post-grad RN experience.
- NRP Healthcare Provider cert.
- IBLCE lactation certification is required.
- Current RN license in any state with active status.
- HCP BLS/AHA certification.
- Ability to obtain government background clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive lactation assessment of mother and infant.
- Coordinate with care team for breastfeeding support.
- Educate patients and families on feeding plans and risks/benefits.
- Document care in medical records and billing systems.
- Lead bedside lactation rounds and participate in the Lactation Task Force.
- Advocate for breastfeeding in hospital, community, and workplace.
