Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Perimeter Release Manager to manage the end-to-end deployment of network infrastructure and data center projects, ensuring smooth deployment and upgrades of networking hardware (e.g., Cisco routers, switches) and data center upgrades. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing the release lifecycle for networking and infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal downtime and managing risk throughout the deployment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the deployment and upgrade of network infrastructure and data center systems, including network devices (routers, switches), ensuring projects meet business goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (networking, operations, vendors) to ensure successful network hardware installations and data center migrations/upgrade projects.
  • Define release scope and deployment schedules, ensuring that network hardware and data center projects are completed on time, within budget, and without impacting business continuity.
  • Ensure all project dependencies are addressed, including coordinating with external vendors for Cisco hardware, and overseeing physical device implementation in production environments.
  • Monitor and manage network deployments from planning through to production go-live, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal business disruption.
  • Risk management and mitigation: Identify and resolve risks, challenges, and potential delays in network hardware deployment and data center upgrades.
  • Work closely with network engineering teams to ensure network device configuration, installation, and integration are executed correctly.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including release notes, change logs, and post-deployment monitoring, for ongoing improvements and audits.
  • Lead post-deployment reviews and ensure all lessons learned are applied to future infrastructure projects.
  • Implement change management protocols and escalation processes during critical deployments and data center migrations to ensure smooth execution.
  • Manage and oversee off-hour deployment cutovers, including weekend and holiday schedules, for networking hardware and data center equipment.
  • Collaborate with vendors and ensure Cisco hardware and OEM devices are configured correctly and integrated seamlessly into existing infrastructures.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in networking and data center project management, with a focus on hardware deployment and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience managing network hardware projects involving Cisco routers, switches, or equivalent OEM devices.
  • Hands-on experience in data center operations, including hardware installations, upgrades, and migration of network devices.
  • Proficiency in network infrastructure tools and technologies, including Cisco UCS, Cisco Prime, or equivalent tools for managing network infrastructure.
  • Strong risk management skills with experience in networking deployments and data center project management.
  • Vendor management experience for coordinating network hardware procurement, Cisco hardware installations, and third-party vendor coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize deliverables to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of coordinating across teams and stakeholders, providing updates, and ensuring everyone is aligned on the release schedule and project goals.

Preferred Skills:

  • ITIL certification or equivalent service management frameworks for release and change management.
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure and cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Agile or Waterfall project management experience, depending on the project requirements.

Key Tools:

  • Release management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps)
  • Network management tools (e.g., Cisco UCS Manager, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds)
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
