Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Peri-Anesthesia RN for the Ambulatory Surgery and Procedure Center on the University of MN East Bank campus. This casual position supports pre- and post-operative care in a busy ASC with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

You will collaborate with surgeons and the health care team in a 10 OR/6 procedure room setting, directing and delegating nursing care while documenting care plans and progress.

Qualifications

• ADN/BSN required or equivalent
• RN license in Minnesota
• 3 years of clinical nursing experience
• 3 years of experience in caring for surgical patients
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 180 days

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate plan of patient care using an outcomes based approach.
• Coordinate, oversee, deliver, and delegate nursing care based on patient assessment/standards of care.
• Direct, evaluate, and supervise the work of assistive personnel in providing delegated nursing services.
• Document, reassess and alter plan of care based on patient’s response to nursing interventions.
• Communicate pertinent patient data to other health care team members in a timely fashion.
