You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing teams, participate in quality assurance, document procedures, and uphold evidence-based perfusion protocols in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program.
• Current CCP certification or eligibility.
• Experience with cardiac surgery environments and operating room teamwork.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and patient safety focus.

Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site Perfusionist role is based at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. The Perfusionist will operate cardiopulmonary bypass machines and related equipment during cardiac surgery and other procedures requiring circulatory and respiratory support. Daily responsibilities include monitoring and managing patients’ hemodynamic status, blood gases, anticoagulation, and temperature, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting perfusion equipment. The role involves collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other clinical team members to plan and execute perfusion strategies that support optimal patient outcomes. The Perfusionist will also participate in quality assurance activities, documentation, and adherence to evidence‑based protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Perfusion skills, including operation and management of cardiopulmonary bypass and related support technologies.


• Candidates should possess foundational Medicine and Cardiopulmonary knowledge to interpret clinical data and support complex surgical care.


• Candidates should possess experience in Cardiac Surgery and Surgery environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in the operating room.


• Graduation from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program and current certification or eligibility for certification (e.g., CCP) are required.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are preferred.


• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to remain calm and effective in high‑acuity, time‑sensitive situations.


• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient safety, continuous learning, and adherence to clinical protocols.


• Prior experience as a Perfusionist in a tertiary or academic medical center setting is beneficial.
