Job summary

Alpha Home Health and Hospice seeks a skilled perfusionist to support and monitor cardiopulmonary systems during cardiac surgeries and related procedures. You will operate CPB equipment, collaborate with physicians, and manage ECMO and transports.

The role requires a perfusion certification, a bachelor’s in medical science, and at least 3 years of experience, with readiness to travel and be on call as needed.

Qualifications

  • Certification in perfusion (GCPL).
  • BLS and other relevant licenses.

Job description

Role:

Perfusionist responsible for supporting, treating, and monitoring the cardiopulmonary and circulatory systems during cardiac surgeries and other procedures.

Key Duties:
  • Operate and maintain cardiopulmonary bypass and ancillary equipment
  • collaborate with physicians
  • prepare and assemble perfusion systems
  • manage ECMO and transport
  • document procedures
  • and ensure equipment safety and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Medical Science
  • minimum 3 years of experience
  • certification in perfusion (GCPL)
  • BLS and other relevant licenses

Completion of an accredited perfusion program and American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification within 12 months if new graduate.

Skills:

Extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and perfusion practices.

Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively with medical teams, handle emergencies, and perform in a team environment.

Willingness to travel and be on call is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Support cardiopulmonary functions, manage equipment and supplies, respond to critical situations, document procedures, and uphold safety and quality standards. Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to organizational policies.
