Job summary

University of North Carolina Pembroke’s Givens Performing Arts Center is seeking multiple part‑time temporaries for technical support for 2024. Position is 0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week, with a flexible rotating schedule and a wage of $15.00–$18.00 per hour.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and at least one year experience in relevant technology. Preferred candidates have experience with lights, audio/visual equipment, computers, and performing arts technical operations.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in technology related to the position’s role

Responsibilities

  • Set-up computers, network, video, sound and light production before shows
  • Operate spotlight during shows
  • Break down sets, including computers, network, video, sound and light equipment after shows
  • Communicate with production crew quickly when a component fails to ensure the show continues without noticeable interruption
  • Load and unload trucks before and after shows, lifting at least 50 pounds
  • Construct and break down set pieces, risers, musical equipment, furniture, road cases and miscellaneous equipment, lifting and carrying heavy objects
