Job summary

The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, seeks an Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 to manage and support performing arts facilities in the Communications Building. This role oversees spaces for music, dance, and theater, trains students in equipment use, and coordinates production logistics and events.

The position supervises student workers, provides technical consultation on sound, lighting, stage operations, and recording, and ensures spaces remain safe and accessible

Qualifications

• Experience supporting performing arts spaces and faculty is preferred.
• Ability to supervise student workers and crews.
• Knowledge of safety practices for performance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain performance, rehearsal, and studio spaces used for music, dance, and theater.
• Support faculty instruction across performing arts disciplines.
• Train students in safe and effective use of performance systems and equipment.
• Coordinate space scheduling, production support, and event logistics for the Performing and Media Arts spaces.
• Supervise student workers and production crews; provide technical consultation on sound, lighting, and stage operations.
