Job Title: Performance Tester with JMETER

Location: Reston, VA

Contract: 6+Months

To perform integration, regression and functional testing on systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and Navy Federal business practices and policies. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with Developers and Vendor teams to understand project requirements and create real-world test cases and use cases.
  2. Develop and execute performance test scripts for load and stress of UI, Mobile and Webservices testing using HP Loadrunner/ HP Performance Center.
  3. Create automated tests to cover regression, functional and integration test needs of Application Testing supported projects using HP Unified Functional Testing Tool.
  4. Monitor performance of the application under test using CA APM.
  5. Report defects found in testing diligently, promptly, and accurately, using standard defect tracking tools (HP ALM).
  6. Perform data analysis when needed to analyze issues in Performance and/or Production environments.
  7. Work with Project/Test Data Management Teams to establish test data in sufficient quantity to support the performance testing effort.
  8. Conduct troubleshooting/performance test execution in support of remediation efforts as required.
  9. Ensure the test execution results fulfill the defined test objectives. Schedule recommended test re-execution if necessary.
  10. Analyze data and application changes and document their impact on the performance-testing task (test cases, scripting, scenario execution, etc.).
  11. Ensure the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are configured accordingly with the test objectives/project team requirements.
  12. Execute, monitor, analyze, and report performance test findings.
  13. Maintain up-to-instance repository of artifacts related to performance test executions.
  14. Timely and accurate communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results, etc.
  15. Work closely and support the coordination effort of other QA team members in primary locations.
  16. Make recommendations to improve product performance, scalability, and availability metrics.
  17. Develop and deliver performance test reports utilizing Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards.
  18. Schedule and assign computing resources to support load-testing efforts.
  19. Possess current awareness of professional standards, innovations, and industry best practices of performance testing and testing tools.
  20. Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
  21. Participate in the selection, evaluation, and management of testing tools.
  22. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Assists with vendor, customer, or management contacts and communications pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  23. Ability to work on multiple projects of moderate size or parts of major projects.
  24. Assists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.

Qualifications – All required unless otherwise noted

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, Education, and experience.
  2. Experience that demonstrates a clear understanding of performance testing and tuning.
  3. At least 6 years of experience with HP Loadrunner, HP Performance Center and HP Unified Functional Testing.
  4. At least 4 years of experience with monitoring tools CA APM.
  5. At least 3 years of experience with Webservices testing.
  6. Experience working in Java and .Net based environments.
  7. Experience using JMeter.
  8. Experience working in Mainframe environment.
  9. At least 3 years of experience with SQL Query tools.
