Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners seeks a Systems Software Engineer to tackle performance and scalability challenges in a mission-critical setting. You will be forward deployed with a performance engineering team to build tools, automation, and reporting capabilities, directly impacting reliability and efficiency.

You will collaborate with users and engineers, solving complex problems while delivering practical software solutions across systems and networks in a Linux-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, integration, DevOps, or related discipline.
• Strong scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, C, C++, Java, or similar.
• Experience in Linux environments and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Familiarity with automation, performance analysis, system monitoring, or network analysis concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software tools to monitor, analyze, and report on system performance.
• Create scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze network and system data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
• Work with users and technical teams to understand challenges and deliver practical solutions.
• Support integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software in Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot complex system, application, and performance issues.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations with actionable insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, automation, and performance engineering capabilities.
