Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners, Inc is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join a forward deployed performance engineering team in a mission-critical environment. You will design and maintain tools to monitor, analyze, and report on system performance, and build automation to improve reliability and efficiency.

You will work closely with users and engineers, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights in Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 6+ years in software or systems engineering, DevOps, or related.
• Strong scripting/programming in Python, Bash, C, C++, or Java.
• Experience with Linux and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Familiarity with automation and performance analysis concepts.
• Ability to work independently and with engineers, admins, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software tools to monitor, analyze, and report on system performance.
• Create scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze network and system data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
• Work directly with users and technical teams to understand challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Support integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software in Linux-based environments.
• Troubleshoot complex system, application, and performance-related issues.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations for actionable insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, automation, and performance engineering capabilities.
