Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Performance Analyst to support ambulatory operations, analyze data, and drive operational improvements across patient access, engagement, and financial performance.

The role collaborates with performance managers, practice leadership, and Epic Ambulatory teams to implement new programs, optimize clinics, and develop action plans while ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care, Education, Business Administration, or related field (or 5+ years in health care operations as alternative).
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and interact with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Epic Ambulatory applications; strong organizational skills and project management knowledge.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail; team player with goal orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Support Performance Managers and practice leadership with ambulatory operations initiatives.
  • Develop practice-level strategies, goals, and improvement plans.
  • Generate reports, document findings, and provide recommendations.
  • Coordinate new practice activations, acquisitions, and program implementations.
  • Manage health network policies and training for new hires and new programs.
  • Collaborate with Epic training team on Go Lives and operational changes.
  • Facilitate monthly AOC meetings and prepare presentation slides.
  • Represent Ambulatory Operations on system and local committees.

Description
Position Summary:

The Performance Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports Performance Managers and practice leadership with ambulatory operations work focusing on system and local key initiatives and goals including, but not limited to, patient access, patient engagement and financial performance.
  • Aid in the development of practice level strategies, goal setting, highlighting operational effects and relevant implications for the organization, as well as assist in preparing improvement and action plans.
  • Accurately and promptly generate reports, document findings, and provide recommendations.
    Supports Performance Managers with project management / support including, but not limited to,
    • new practices / service line activations, practice acquisitions, program development, clinic optimization, system wide operation roll-outs
  • Strong ability to collect, organize and interpret data (qualitative and quantitative) as it pertains to operational processes and workflows.
  • Management of “New Business” process for ambulatory clinics, including communication and coordination with practice leadership and financial analysis.
  • Accountable for updating and maintaining of Health Network policies & procedures.
  • Manages the training and education efforts for new hire orientation, new practice integration, and introduction of new programs.
  • Work in partnership with the Non-Clinical Epic training team to support practice operation changes and upgrades along with expert knowledge on ATE support for Go Lives.
  • Facilitates monthly (AOC) meeting including coordinating presenters and preparing slides.
  • Represent Ambulatory Operations for various system & local committees (dismissal, workforce violence, digital solutions)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree, in Health Care, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
    • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5 + years of business, operations or education experience in the Health Care field will be considered
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities and capability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent classroom facilitation and training skills along with strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with prior experience with Epic Ambulatory applications with solid organization skills and standard knowledge of project management
  • Strong time management skills & pays close attention to details
  • A strong team player who is organized and goal- oriented
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications or related field preferred or equivalent experience
