Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Performance Improvement / Infection Control Coordinator to coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive programs that ensure high-quality, safe patient care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing policies with the Pasadena ICC, monitoring adherence, and communicating data to staff. You will review guidelines from CDC, APIC, OSHA, and other bodies to drive continuous improvement in infection prevention and control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Healthcare degree required.
• CPHG/AIPC Certification preferred.
• Experience in Performance Improvement preferred.
• Registered Nurse and/or Epidemiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies/procedures in conjunction with SCSC Pasadena ICC and monitors compliance with established policies and procedures; can extrapolate policies and procedures to unique situations.
• Communicates and updates hospital staff on current infection control data as necessary.
• Reviews professional literature/guidelines (HICPAC, CDC, APIC, The Joint Commission, OSHA)
• Reviews microbiology reports and reports unusual occurrences.
