Alvarado Parkway Institute (API) is a free‑standing psychiatric hospital in La Mesa, California that offers comprehensive adult inpatient behavioral health and addictive disorders services in a 66‑bed hospital setting. The organization is committed to improving community mental health and quality of life.

Job Description

You are invited to join as an entry‑level Performance Improvement Coordinator. This hybrid, full‑time role will support the Director of Performance Improvement and the Manager of Regulatory Affairs across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various departments to collect, abstract, and analyze reports and data.
  • Enter and track data into monitoring systems, primarily Excel‑based.
  • Apply critical thinking during data abstraction, information review, and health‑care documentation audits.
  • Maintain compliance and regulatory records/files.
  • Prepare competency materials, communication, and tracking – electronically and/or hard copy.
  • Create graphical data representations and PowerPoint slide decks for Quality Council, Risk Management, and Safety Committee review.
  • Assist in managing the Medical Staff Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) process.
  • Generate correspondence using mail merge, Excel, and Access databases.
Experience
  • Healthcare industry experience, performance‑improvement administrative services, or medical staff office experience is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with medical and business terminology is preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
  • Professional communication across all mediums with a strong customer‑experience focus.
  • Positive demeanor, objective, ability to set healthy boundaries, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Self‑starter with strong time‑management and organizational skills to handle multiple priority projects with deadlines.
  • Data collection, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills and practical application of Excel formulas.
  • Judgment, critical thinking, and discretion to work independently with minimal guidance, while knowing when to seek help.
  • High‑level confidentiality and appropriate information dissemination.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and web‑based applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Commitment to meeting expectations.
Education

Healthcare industry related preferred.

License/Certification

None required.

Job Type

Full Time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, AM schedule with limited flexibility.
