Job summary

The Alley Theatre in Houston is seeking a Performance House Manager to oversee ushers and coordinate housekeeping, engineering, security, and valet services. You will supervise staff, ensure smooth performance starts, and manage guest flow and safety.

Shifts run evenings and weekends with rapid decision-making on duty. Responsibilities include preparing incident reports, coordinating with the stage manager and box office, and maintaining lobby decorum.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Professional dress required during performances.
• Be articulate and energetic to meet guest needs and resolve issues quickly.
• Demonstrate impartial judgment in guest service and volunteer relations.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Must obtain/maintain First Aid (CPR and First Aid) certification.
• Familiarity with Office 365 and willingness to learn Tessitura CRM.
• Minimum of two years of work experience.
• High school diploma; some college is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ushers and coordinate housekeeping, engineering, security, and valet services.
• Direct guest support and ensure safe guest evacuation procedures.
• Coordinate performance starts with stage manager and box office for punctual starts.
• Prepare and distribute Performance House reports.
• Recharge and manage walkies, scanners, and ALDs after each performance.
• Maintain lobby decorum and assist guests throughout shows.
• Provide incident reports and follow-up documentation.
