Job description

Performance Expert (R2PC) - Fort Belvoir, VA

KBR is seeking a Performance Expert to help strengthen the physical and psychological health, resilience and performance of Soldiers, Unit Leaders, Families, and DOD Civilians located at Army Installations. The Resilience Training/Ready and Resilient Performance Center Program aims to optimize mental and physical health and support existing Army training and education programs across Army installations.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct individuals in holistic strength and conditioning and resilience to ensure durability. Conduct training intake/registration, including initial unit contact, observation, and development of training plans.
  • Prepare for training events by conducting research, tailoring course material, producing and distributing all course materials, and facilitating training sessions.
  • Grade student course materials and document student grades in required databases.
  • Assess training impact by distributing surveys at the close of each training activity, summarizing results in an After‑Action Review (AAR) within five workdays of completion, and producing a quarterly report with data analyses.
  • Maintain records of trainings, observe instructors, and provide feedback on delivery.
  • Complete initial instructor certifications to ensure effective delivery.
  • Teach resilience and performance enhancement concepts, linking training to unit missions and higher level guidance.
  • Provide coaching on communication, counseling, critical thinking, and resilience skills to develop professional climates founded on trust and cohesive teams.
  • Deliver tailored educational programs and workshops for personnel in demanding environments to achieve personal, professional, and family goals.
Required Education / Experience
  • Minimum master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling Education, Coaching Education, or Kinesiology (including a specialized emphasis in sports or performance psychology).
  • Teaching or coaching experience, preferably with military and DOD personnel.
  • Thorough knowledge of Army organizational structure, mission objectives, procedures, regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army.
  • Completion of PE evaluation and certification before performing duties.
Preferred Education / Experience
  • Certifications or memberships within a professional association such as the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), or American Board of Sport Psychology (ABSP), or the ability to obtain such certifications within one year of hire.
Salary

$70,000 annually; no relocation.

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation, including sign‑on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
