Job summary

Sednacg is seeking a Performance Engineer to oversee cloud monitoring across distributed environments. You will partner with development, operations, and DevOps to tailor dashboards and improve monitoring coverage while ensuring tools remain current and properly licensed.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and strong communication to influence senior stakeholders and guide continuous improvement in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience with monitoring cloud based environments, preferably within AWS.
• Experience developing network software components based on SNMP and NetFlow protocols.
• Proven internal and external influencing skills at senior and executive management levels.
• Previous experience in one or more of network testing, test automation, network monitoring systems, large scale systems configuration management.
• Working level knowledge with one or more of: (Python, Perl, shell scripting, PowerShell, etc.)
• Scripting/software development for Engineering tasks automation
• Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.
• Monitoring tools in a large enterprise (Dynatrace, Nagios Core, Nagios XI, Topaz, EM7, Zenoss)
• Metric gathering (Graphite)
• Metric visualizations (Graphene, Cacti, etc.)
• Centralized logging (Sumologic, Splunk, etc.)
• Implementing automated event correlation systems
• Experience integrating software and services using common API techniques (SOAP, REST, XML)
• Experience with network vendor scripting protocols and interfaces (preferably Juniper XML API/SLAX, Cisco Python/POAP, F5 iControl).

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Onboard/Off-board users to tool set using cloud bases monitoring tools sets including Dynatrace and Sumologic develop practices and policies surrounding the user administration of these tools and manage licenses for all products.
• Resolve issues with cloud based tool set, in coordination.
• Identify the issues in the environment and the tools to identify the issues, not to resolve the issue but trouble shoot the monitor.
• Upgrade and maintain tool set within a given timeframe.
• Provide design input for dashboards.
• Interface directly with development, level 2 support and Dev Ops to perform in depth customization of the tools to provide the business with the best possible support.
• Work with vendor to keep the tools set current and assure its supportability and to review the environment and ensure the tool is working as it should collaborating on ideas and suggestion for continuous improvement.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with monitoring cloud based environments preferably within AWS.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Experience with:
