About TxtCart
TxtCart is an AI-native SMS marketing platform for ecommerce brands. We help merchants drive more revenue through conversational messaging, automation, campaigns, and AI.
We are bootstrapped, profitable, and growing quickly at around $4M ARR with a small async-first remote team. Paid acquisition is a major growth engine, and creative is increasingly the constraint between where we are today and how aggressively we can scale.
The Role
You will own performance creative strategy and execution across TxtCart’s paid acquisition funnel. Early on, you will work closely with Kyle, our CEO, on the weekly creative plan: which ICPs, angles, formats, iterations, and net-new concepts we should test. As you prove you can identify patterns, diagnose results, and consistently make good next-step decisions, you will take increasing ownership of the feedback loop.
This is a builder seat, not a creative director seat. You should be comfortable going from customer research to angle to concept to script or copy to creator/editor brief to launch to performance analysis to iteration without needing a large team around you.
The objective is simple: consistently find winning creative, understand why it worked, and turn those learnings into the next round of winners.
What You’ll Own
Customer and market research
- Get obsessive about our ICP, their problems, objections, buying triggers, current tools, and language.
- Mine sales calls, support conversations, reviews, communities, competitor ads, social content, and performance data for insights.
- Turn research into new angles, mechanisms, hooks, offers, objections, proof points, and ICP hypotheses.
- Build the weekly testing roadmap across net-new concepts and iterations of existing winners.
- Know when an angle deserves deeper iteration and when it is time to reset against a new angle or ICP.
- Create structured hypotheses behind tests so we learn from what ships rather than changing everything at once.
Video, static, and copy
- Write scripts and briefs across creator/UGC, founder-led, talking-head, demo, story, VSL-style, testimonial, objection-led, and AI-assisted animation formats.
- Work with creators and editors from initial brief through final delivery, giving specific feedback on hooks, pacing, messaging, proof, visuals, and CTAs.
- Develop native statics, long-form statics, comparison ads, proof ads, product screenshots, offer ads, and other performance formats.
- Write strong direct-response headlines, primary text, hooks, body copy, and CTAs.
Landing pages and funnels
- Evaluate whether the post-click experience matches the promise and sophistication of the ad.
- Recommend and write new landing pages, sections, proof, comparisons, offers, or page structures when the creative needs a better destination.
- Treat creative and landing-page conversion as one system rather than isolated functions.
Performance analysis and iteration
- Live in the data. Understand CTR, CPC, CPM, CVR, CAC, ROAS, spend, and relevant video engagement metrics.
- Separate real signal from noise or insufficient spend, diagnose why concepts won or lost, and document the learning.
- Turn every meaningful result into the next creative decision.
- Take a winning concept and produce purposeful iterations rather than endless unrelated concepts.
- Use AI aggressively for research, synthesis, competitive analysis, ideation, scripting, versioning, and operational leverage.
- Build workflows that increase the quantity of good thinking without reducing creative quality or judgment.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- 3+ years in performance creative strategy, direct-response advertising, or a closely related role.
- A real track record in DTC/ecommerce, performance marketing, or B2B SaaS with demonstrable paid-social results.
- Examples of ads or concepts you personally strategized that reached meaningful spend.
- Fluency in direct-response fundamentals: awareness levels, mechanisms, buyer psychology, objections, proof, offers, hooks, and copywriting.
- Strong judgment around winning iteration versus net-new concept generation.
- Strong video scripting, static creative, and long-form primary-text ability.
- Comfort reading performance data and making decisions from it, not just reporting it.
- Strong customer-research instincts and the ability to turn qualitative research into creative hypotheses.
- Strong fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
- A self-directed operator who executes personally and communicates well in an async remote environment.
Nice to haves
- Experience marketing Shopify, ecommerce, retention, CRO, or marketing software.
- Experience selling sophisticated or technical products to operators.
- Experience working with Meta ads at meaningful scale.
- Strong landing-page/CRO instincts or experience building creative research and testing systems from scratch.
First 90 Days
By day 30
- You understand TxtCart’s ICP, positioning, product, historical creative, and current paid acquisition funnel.
- The first weekly creative plan is executed on schedule and concepts are tracked against actual results.

By day 60
- You are identifying patterns in winners and losers before they are pointed out to you.

- Your customer research is consistently producing stronger angles and hypotheses.
By day 90
