UNC Health Medical Group in Kinston, North Carolina seeks per diem urologists to join a well-established practice with a busy patient panel and the opportunity to lead robotic-assisted surgery using the new da Vinci 5 system.

Board Certified/Eligible Urologists are welcome; the role offers 1:5 call coverage across UNC Lenoir/Wayne and access to UNC Health's statewide resources in a community hospital setting with dedicated Urology APP support.

Qualifications

• Active Rex Hospital Medical Staff membership with required board certification.
• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine (per notes in the posting).

UNC Health Medical Group and UNC Health Lenoir are currently seeking per diem, Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologists to join a well-established practice in Kinston, North Carolina. Enjoy a busy, ready-made panel from day one and the opportunity to lead in robotic-assisted urologic surgery as the hospital prepares to launch its newest technology.

UNC Health Lenoir is proud to announce a brand new da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System that was installed and operational January 2026. Be part of the foundational team offering minimally invasive robotic urology procedures in a supportive, community hospital environment, with access to UNC Health's statewide resources and infrastructure.

Position Highlights:

• Full patient panel in an established, high-demand urology clinic
• New da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System
• Dedicated support from new Urology APP
• Shared 1:5 call coverage, including weekends, across UNC Lenoir and nearby UNC Wayne (20 miles apart), with the Urology group in Goldsboro, NC
• Epic - EMR
• Opportunity to help shape and grow the robotic surgery program.

Education Requirements:
• Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical Staff, including meeting the Board Certification requirements. Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Board Certified Internal Medicine
• DEA;ACLS;MD
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Prefer prior hospitalist experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.REASONING ABILITYHigh-level quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential in order to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNorth Carolina Medical License, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
