Job summary

Spectrum 360, a NJ nonprofit, is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join the district team. The role requires NJ teaching or substitute certification, familiarity with district programs, and strong communication with students and staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, enforcing policies, and coordinating with the principal to implement daily lesson plans. Per diem compensation and health/background checks are part of the position.

Qualifications

• A valid New Jersey teaching certificate or substitute certificate (minimum of 60 college credits).
• Familiarity with district philosophy, programs, and policies.
• Ability to work with children and communicate effectively.
• Basic technological skills as required by the position.
• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must complete required health examinations and immunizations.
• Must pass required criminal history background check.
• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, Board policies, and federal/state laws.
• Communicate professionally within the school community.
• Reports to the Principal designee at least fifteen minutes before the official school opening.
• Review plans and schedules with the Principal and/or designee.
• Follow teacher's schedule and lesson plans as assigned.
• Supervise pupil behavior in class and during other periods.
• Demonstrate skill in organizing classroom activities.
• Cooperate professionally with all building staff and provide end-of-day report to regular classroom teacher.
• Remain in the building until official school closing for teachers.
• Report to the building Principal designee at day’s end.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designees.
