Job summary

Gananda Central School District is seeking dependable, student-centered per diem substitutes across our schools. Substitutes support instruction, foster a safe and welcoming environment, and follow classroom routines and safety protocols.

You will adapt to varying grade levels, implement lesson plans provided by staff, collaborate with faculty, and contribute to a positive school culture. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or relevant experience is preferred

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Additional education or relevant experience is a plus depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students.
• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Support students in engaging with meaningful, personalized learning experiences.
• Maintain appropriate classroom routines, expectations, and behavior-management practices.
• Foster positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Encourage student participation, perseverance, independence, and academic success.
• Follow school and classroom procedures, including attendance, supervision, safety, and emergency protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
• Adapt to varying grade levels, instructional settings, student needs, and school environments.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or designee.
