Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in adherence with medical standards. The nurse promotes a safe, therapeutic environment with compassionate patient treatment. Training will be provided!

Responsibilities include assessing withdrawal symptoms, monitoring vitals, administering medications per protocol, and contributing to treatment plan development and patient education.

Qualifications

• Valid and current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to relate to a substance use treatment population in a sensitive manner in a multicultural setting.
• Commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized nursing care to patients based on best practices.
• Assesses patients for withdrawal symptoms using standardized withdrawal assessment tools.
• Monitors vital signs and administers medications per established protocols.
• Participates in development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of treatment plans.
• Provides group and individual education to patients on medications, use, side effects, and other information related to medications.
• Obtains and transcribes orders for patient personal medications.
• Responds professionally in crisis situations.
• Documents pertinent information concisely and accurately per alcohol/drug protocols and medical conditions.
• Assists in admitting, transferring and discharging patients, ensuring safety.
• Provides compassionate support and counsel to those with substance use disorder.
