Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Speech Therapist to assess and treat patients with speech and language disorders, swallowing and cognitive impairments. The role involves creating and implementing treatment plans and monitoring patient progress in coordination with the health care team.

Responsibilities include evaluating functional status, developing therapy plans, instructing patients and families, and ensuring care outcomes across diverse home environments.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
• Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing speech therapy and in coordination with the health care team.
• Evaluates patient function and assists in developing therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.
• Observes, records and reports patient progress to supervising nurse/physician.
• Instructs patient and caregivers in speech therapy techniques.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
