Job summary

Geisinger Community Care Hazleton is seeking a Security Officer I to maintain safety and security across assigned areas, respond to emergencies, and support hospital operations. The role includes patrols, escort duties, evidence collection, and coordination with local authorities.

You will be expected to manage stressful situations calmly while ensuring patient and staff safety. This flex per diem position offers non-benefits eligibility with a minimum hiring rate and potential shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Preferred: 1 year of related security experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine patrols on foot or by car of assigned areas; enforces hospital rules of conduct; reports or resolves problems and completes shift reports.
• Directs firefighting activities; inspects buildings for fire and safety hazards; participates in fire drills and safety programs with local fire departments.
• Directs traffic on hospital property and assists with vehicle problems per policy and training.
• Provides routine escort and emergent delivery services to campus facilities.
• Trains in relation to Hospital Emergency Incident Command System roles and participates in emergency operations setup.
• Investigates complaints and reports incidents; collaborates with local police departments.
