Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license (active)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing
• Experience as RN in child health, community health, or pediatric/school nursing preferred
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Assist primary school nurse in health office management and first aid
• Provide emergency care and nursing procedures for injuries and illnesses
• Administer or supervise medication administration per district protocols
• Organize annual mandated screenings (vision, hearing, height/weight, postural, SBIRT) and referrals
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, counselors, psychologists, teachers and staff
• Maintain electronic health records with accurate documentation
• Counsel students on medical issues and health education
• Monitor immunization and physical exam compliance and prepare annual reports
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and share information as needed for safety
• Adhere to district, DPH and DESE health policies and procedures
• Coordinate with community providers and families regarding student health needs
• Perform other duties as assigned by Health Services leadership
