Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District in North Dighton, MA seeks a per-diem substitute School Nurse to support students and staff across grades PK-12. This part-time role reports to the Principal and Director of Special Education and ensures timely health assessments, first aid, and health records management.

Ideal candidates hold MA RN license, BSN, CPR/First Aid, and prior school-nurse experience; citizenship or work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Has a valid license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.
• Experience as a school nurse PK to 12+ grade levels, preferred.
• Possesses up-to-date first aid and CPR certification.
• Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• To promote and maintain the good physical well being and health of students and staff.
• To coordinate the resources of the school and community as they pertain to the total health of students and staff.
• Assumes responsibility within the school for the care of students and staff who have suffered injuries or emergency illnesses.
• Assumes responsibility for selection and referral of students in need of medical and/or dental care.
• Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Maintains up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
• Observes students on a regular basis to detect health needs.
• Corresponds with parents and families based on need
• Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
