Job summary

Assabet Valley Collaborative (AVC) is seeking Per Diem Registered Nurses to provide nursing coverage across three special education programs in Metrowest/Central Massachusetts. You’ll administer medications, support health plans, and assist with complex medical needs while joining a collaborative team of school nurses.

Per diem assignments offer flexible 7‑hour school days and opportunities to work on field trips and program needs, with compensation ranging from $38 to $78 per hour based on

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license; LPN license may suffice with support from our RN team.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Experience with pediatrics, special education, schools, psychology, or individuals with complex needs is helpful.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing student and program needs.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, treatments, and other nursing interventions.
• Implement student health care plans and medical protocols.
• Provide seizure management and emergency response.
• Support tube feeding and other complex health needs.
• Monitor and respond to illnesses, injuries, and changes in student health.
• Communicate with families, medical providers, teachers, and other staff.
• Train and support staff in implementing student health plans and safety procedures.
• Maintain appropriate nursing documentation and records.
• Collaborate with AVC's nursing team and multidisciplinary staff.
